Niagara Peninsula is home to several wine-related festivals (www.niagarawinefestival.com and www.twentyvalley.ca) throughout the year. Time your visit to be able to attend one of these locals’ faves in the wine country of Niagara-on-the-Lake and its neighbor Twenty Valley:

Niagara Homegrown Wine Festival (June) Kicks off Niagara’s summer wine-tasting season with two weekends of wine-and-food-pairing events; typically more than 30 wineries participate.

Niagara Grape and Wine Festival (September) Celebrates the harvest season with two weeks of wine tastings and concerts around the region as well as two parades in St Catherines.

Niagara Icewine Festival (January) Showcases Ontario’s stickiest, sweetest ice wines during a 16-day winter festival, including winery tours, street festivals and a gala party at the Niagara Fallsview Casino.

Twenty Valley Winter WineFest (January) Celebrates Twenty Valley wines in Jordan Village during one weekend of tastings, live music and outdoor events like ice wine puck shoot-outs and barrel-rolling competitions.
